The Alogfire story
Around six years ago, Danny and Stuart were away fishing when they landed a personal-best 97lb catfish. After a few celebratory drinks, hunger kicked in and at 3am there was only one sensible option: bacon sandwiches.
Out came the little round camping stove. It was dark, windy and every time they tried to get it going, the flame blew out. Eventually they got it lit.
Then it fell over.
The whole thing rolled down the hill like a Catherine wheel, taking their breakfast with it.
“Surely we can make something better than this?”
That question turned into more than five years of development, testing and redesigning, working closely with our production engineering partners. Eventually, that slightly ridiculous night beside a fishing lake became the Alogfire Mini.
Family owned
Today, sons, daughters, wives and other family members all play their part. There are plenty of discussions, plenty of opinions and, like any family business, plenty of moments when everyone suddenly becomes an expert.
But that is exactly how we like it.
Families sitting around an Alogfire on a campsite. Couples staying outside a little longer when the temperature drops. People cooking, laughing and creating their own memories around the fire.
That is what it was designed for.
From a 97lb catfish, a failed bacon sandwich and a camping stove rolling down a hill, to thousands of Alogfires creating warm evenings across the country.
We could not have planned the beginning if we had tried.
And we are only just getting started.
Wherever you go
